... Book Sales
The Friends of the Greenwood Public Library have three book sales a year. The Thursday of the sale is reserved for Friends members only from Noon until 7:00 p.m. The sale continues into Friday, and open to the public. Hours on Friday are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday is open to the public as well and offers special "bag bargains". Saturday book sale hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
The 2011 Sales are:
March 31 – April 2
June 23- 25
November 10, 11 & 12
The Friends also accept used books to be put into the collection of the Library or sold at the sale. The Library saved over $15,000 in 2010 by placing books into the collection from donations. The other books also help GPL financially because all the proceeds from each book sale goes directly to pay for programs at the Library!

The Scoop is the monthly newsletter published by Reference and Reader's Advisory. It highlights many of our activities. The Children's Department also puts out the Jr. Scoop and Hip to Knit has their own as well.
The Inside Scoop is a bi-monthly newsletter published by the Friends of the Greenwood Public Library that is replacing the Friendly Notes. With the cost of postage, the organization decided it would be better to email this news instead of a paper copy to your mailbox. If you are a member of the Friends organization and share your email with us - it will be sent directly to your inbox. This contains news about what the Friends are doing as well as recap of Library events.

The Friends of the Greenwood Public Library make it possible for the Library to offer programs, materials and equipment that would not otherwise be possible within the constraints of the Library's tax-based budget. Not only do they raise money, but advocate for the Library in the community.
