This genealogy database includes access to the U.S. Federal Census collection, over 20,000 family and local history books, an index to nearly 2 million magazine articles with genealogical information and a database of Revolutionary War era records.  The database can be accessed from the library and home computers.

FAQs

What kind of genealogical information can I find at the Greenwood Public Library?
You will find a variety of materials that cover the basics of genealogical research and organizational methods at GPL, in addition to a few local histories.  The library also subscribes to two genealogy databases that provide access to census, birth, and death records.

Where can I find collections of actual genealogical resources such as family histories?
You can find local genealogical resources at the genealogy library in the Johnson County Museum of History.  Additional collections in the area include the Indiana State Library’s Genealogy Division, resources from the Indiana Historical Society, and Indiana county histories at Central Library (IMCPL).  Refer to the above Organizations section for contact information.
