Next Meeting:  Tuesday, October 5,  5:30-7:30

Thanks to Jill from Starstruck Cat Studio and Mary Ann of A Good Yarn for demonstrating their sock knitting machines at the August 3 Hip to Knit.  Watch an excerpt of their presentation here:

 Who can come?

Anyone!  All ages welcome!

When do we meet?
The first Tuesday of each month.

What should I bring?
Bring your current project.  If you are beginning, just bring needles.  Any kind or size will work - bamboo size 8 for those just learning work great.

How does it work?
Knitters come and knit in the company of others.  New knitters will learn the basics of casting on and the knit stitch at their first meeting.  Those needing extra assistance with their projects can usually get plenty of help from the wonderful knitting groupies that come.

Charity Knitting

If you would like to contribute to the Hip to Knit Charity Knitting Project, simply knit baby items of your choice.  All donated items will be given to expecting mothers of Johnson County who attend the Ready or Not, Here I Come program of the Partnership for a Healthier Johnson County.  Contact Kendra at GPL for suggested patterns or help completing your projects.  Past donated items include sweaters, blankets, bibs, hats, and booties.  More information about this worthwhile program can be found at PartnershipJC.org
