Knitting is a popular hobby for many.  The library is a place for inspiration, free patterns, and instructional materials.

	Teach Yourself Visually Knitting by Sharon Turner 746.432 TUR The full color photographs and concise instructions make this a useful resource.  Includes instructions for shaping, bobbles, knots, and cables while incorporating many different colors into your project.		Knitting Basics by Betty Barnden 746.432 BAR This book has an excellent stitch library.  If you want to tackle more complicated stitch patterns and incorporate lacy effects, this would be helpful.
	Knitting on the Edge by Nicky Epstein 746.432 EPS If you have ever wondered how to add a pretty edge onto a plain sweater, scarf, placement, or other knitted item, this book is for you.		Two Balls or Less by Jenny Hill 746.4304 HIL This book pushes the knitter to go crazy with unusual yarns and unique designs.  Instructions for dog sweaters, kids’ capelets, slub shrugs, bollywood bags, and more are included in this hip book.
	Big Knitting by Sophie Britten 746.43 BRI Do you easily get tired and bored with a project?  Then pick a project out of this book whose projects only call for chunky yarn and big needles to ensure that you finish what you start.		Not Another Teen Knitting Book by Vickie Howell 746.432 HOW How do you make knitting fun for young people?  Have them make projects that they would be proud to wear.  Includes funky scarves, goofy hats, elegant evening wraps, car seat head rests, mini-skirts, and marching band fingerless gloves.

Are there any local knitting clubs here in Greenwood?
Yes, Hip to Knit is here at Greenwood Public Library on the first Tuesday of every month
from 5:30-7:30pm.  Both experienced and beginning knitters gather to learn new
techniques.  Come check out the knitting resources here at the library and enjoy the company of other knitters!
