The Studio FAQs

Do I have to have a library card to use the kits or equipment?

Yes...BUT if you don't have a card, no problem!   Library staff at the 2nd floor Help Desk can check out kits and equipment to you using a special Maker Space card.  We'll just need to hold onto a picture ID while you're using the resources in the room.  If you have a library card, just visit the Help Desk and let us know what you're interesting in checking out.  All ages are invited to MAKE in The Studio!

How do I access supplies in The Studio?

The Studio offers some supplies/tools on an ongoing daily basis in our kits and in our supply area including scissors, glue, rulers, and colored pencils.  If you have a specific project in mind, we encourage you to bring your own project-specific supplies and work in our space.

Do I need to bring my own supplies to The Studio?

If you're interested in completing a project beyond the scope of our kit offerings, we definitely encourage you to bring your own supplies.  For example, a patron could make use of our sewing machine and notions, but they would need to bring their own fabric, patterns, and other notions specific to the project.

Can I check out a kit and take it home?

All kits and equipment in The Studio are for use in the space ONLY.  The library does offer a variety of special collections including DIY Kits, Outdoor Kits, Binge Boxes, and Board Games that you can check out and take home with you.

What hours is The Studio open?

The Studio is open the same hours as the library unless the library has planned a program or special event.  Check out our programming calendar or Facebook for more details.
