My Librarian: Zoe
One of my earliest memories of the library is walking into the children’s section and seeing a ginormous doghouse for Clifford the Big Red Dog. I loved Clifford, and seeing his house just brought the magic of those stories to life even more. Flash forward to high school, and I was looking for something to read on my new Kindle. I stumbled across The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, and before I knew it, I had read half of the first book in one sitting, lying on the floor of my living room. I couldn’t remember the last time a story gripped me so tightly. Flash forward again to just last year, and I was trying out an audiobook for the first time. I listened to The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. I had been wanting to try an audiobook so I could do some mindless work while I listened, but I found myself staring off into space, completely enthralled in this heartbreaking story.
Looking back on these memories from where I am now, it makes my job all the more special. I love working with kids and being there to help create that magic and love of reading that I experienced when I was little. And the feeling of finding your new favorite book? That’s a feeling I want to help everyone get!
A few fun facts about me: My favorite, favorite, favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. I like to draw in my spare time. I could eat a taco any day, any time.

My Top Picks
These books will find a fan in me always. They all have fantastic story lines, but what makes them my favorite books of all time are the characters. I got attached to every single person, and I found myself using every free second to find out what happened to them. Sure, you could read a book with an interesting plot, but if the characters are flat, do you even care what happens in the end?
For Historical Fiction Fans
These books really immerse you into the struggles, horrors, and everyday lives of people living through major historical events, whether it’s World War II or the Dust Bowl. These authors did great research, so you’ll learn a lot, too!
Fun Picture Books
These books are very special! Some have sweet lessons of friendship and others are just for fun, but all of them are great read alouds to try with your preschooler.
